Introduce yourself:
I'm Zoe Newsome. My family means the world to me.
I love Britney, the colour pink, and nail polish. I've worked at UO for three years, working my way up from intern and now I help produce
all European imagery.
What is your job at Urban Outfitters?
I am the Production Coordinator. This means,
I coordinate all the lifestyle photo shoots for UO in Europe. I work closely with the Production Manager and we source the locations,
photographers, make-up artists and models.
What do you enjoy most about working at UO?
The people. My team is lovely.
If you didn't work at UO, what do you think you would be doing?
Working in my Dad's ice cream parlour at the seaside.
How did you feel about your family being the stars / inspiration for UO Xmas?
Ha! A lot of different emotions, I was nervous at first. To even ask my parents was tough as I knew they didn't fully
understand what they were letting themselves in for, but I was excited to go home.
I was also terrified of so many people being in my house and upsetting my parents.
The actual shoot was stressful but amazing. It was crazy to see everyone get so excited about the things I have always loved. Now I'm
just proud that everyone gets to see my wonderful parents and our love of Christmas.
What's a typical work outfit for you?
I am one of those annoying people that plan the night before. It takes me like two seconds though.
The colour-blocking trend this season was made for me. It's either one of my 50 dresses or my new discovery of maxi skirts; I
don't do trousers, I don't own any.
You are originally from Wales, but now live in East London. What made you move to London?
I moved to study here. I've always wanted to live in London. I knew I had to live in the big city to work in fashion.
What does Wales have that London doesn't have?
Space, the seaside, and my parents.
What does London have that Wales doesn't have?
Adventures and coffee shops. There are no coffee shops in Rhyl and I can't cope without them!
When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
A mermaid.
You've been likened to Ariel (Little Mermaid) and Wilma (The Flintstones) - other than the red hair do you think you have other similarities?
Sadly I don't think there are. Ariel can't talk for most of the movie and as most people know, you can't shut me up.
Who are your favourite red heads?
Ariel of course. I loved the Spice Girls when I was younger so Ginger Spice. My mum's hair is always fabulous.
You have a lot of pink things. Would you describe yourself as a typical girly-girl?
Yes I love being a girl. I love pink. I don't actually wear it but if I am buying anything else I always will chose pink.
Where do you think you inherited your love of colour?
My family. Our house is very bright, full of fun, and I was always encouraged to express my creativity.
I found the easiest way to do that through colour.
You've got a lot of nail varnishes. How often do you change the colour of your nails? Do you choose what colour to paint your nails based on your mood?
I change my nails every other day. I cannot bear chips. I express myself with my nails and I feel different almost daily. I choose the colour depending on my
mood, sometimes outfit, sometimes season, and sometimes just for fun. As I change them so often I can be very particular.
Which celeb are you currently lusting after?
Chuck Bass forever and always.
Favourite TV Show:
Gossip Girl - Chuck and Blair forever.
Favourite Movie:
The Little Mermaid. I love Disney films and this one has stuck.
Favourite Book:
Pride and Prejudice. It's the perfect mix of period drama and romance.
You went to Paris for the first time this year. Did it live up to your expectations? What did you enjoy most?
Yes it was magical. My favourite part was going to Notre Dame Cathedral. Stemming from my love of Disney I love Hunchback of Notre Dame and I loved climbing it and looking over the city. It was the perfect combination of gothic and romance.
Where is next on your list of places to visit?
I want to go to Hong Kong.
2011 is drawing to a close, how did you do with your New Year's resolutions this year?
Terrible. I set myself goals and I just couldn't commit. Life gets in the way.
Will you be making resolutions for 2012?
No. Too many unexpected things happen in life. I prefer to go with the flow.
