Sara Berman's line is much sought after, and season after season there will be a stand out piece or two that becomes a classic. Rather than re-issuing that item, it is reworked and re-released in classic black. Thus, BERMAN BLACK was born; not a diffusion line, but a 'complimentary line' to the main collection, an ingenuous concept with a more commercial leaning.
Founded in 1998, the Sara Berman label came to be after Sara designed a range of mini skirts as a summer project that went on to sell at high-end retailers. Fast forward 10 years and Sara Berman is a fully-fledged business and family affair with her sister Aimee working along side her, and their mother Helene is the third silent partner.
