The excellent Minimal Wave Records keeps going from strength to strength, and this compilation of rare, unreleased and licensed tracks is another classic. Expect naive danceable Belgradian new wave, filmic synthesizer music, primitive drum machines and melodic synthpop from as far away as Japan and the former Yugoslavia. Originally recorded on four tracks in the artist’s bedrooms; Minimal Wave is a genre that deserves your attention.
