Top places to eat:

Katsouris Delicatessen
My favourite place to eat in all of Manchester. It's the kind of place you discover, and through word of mouth it turns into everyone's favourite place to eat. The carvery is to die for!
113 Deansgate, M3 2BQ

Café Pop
A great little café / diner in the basement of the POP vintage shop. Really nice atmosphere with good music.
34-36 Oldham Street, Northern Quarter, M1 1JN

Top places to drink:

Common
It's my favourite bar in Manchester. Many hours have been spent in there talking about design and loads of ideas and projects; initial concepts stemmed from conversions with the walls. It's a really nice small bar which every few months gets a complete facelift. They paint the walls white again and give artists and illustrators the world over free rein to paint, draw, collage and decorate the insides.
39 - 41 Edge Street, Northern Quarter. M4 1HW

Tiger Lounge
Pure '60s &'70s... I love the fact you walk in and you feel like you just went back in time. Down to even the smallest detail, the Tiger Lounge is so authentic.

Big Hands
A really small cool bar right near to the Academy; and bands that play at the Academy usually go to Big Hands afterwards for a drink. My friend was sat behind Animal Collective after their gig in that bar!

Walrus Canteen & Lounge
A cool newish cocktail bar in the Northern Quarter; the interior is crazy!
