With initial ambitions to become a professional racing cyclist, Paul Smith’s introduction into the world of fashion was the result of a few unforeseen events. Shortly following an accident that said goodbye to his cycling dreams, Paul was introduced to a bunch of fashion types from his local college and there was no looking back. It took only two years for the first Paul Smith boutique to open up in his home town of Nottingham during 1970, closely followed by the label’s first fashion show in Paris a few years later. A well loved British designer, Paul Smith is renowned for anticipating and creating trends, whilst working just the right amount of mischief and humor into his classic yet modern designs.
