Describe Hamburg in 3 words:
Harbour, rainy (cliché), green
What do you love about the city?
It is a classic harbour city with the second biggest harbour in Europe. Hamburg has a lot of clubs, bars, theatres, music venues etc. and a very active creative and cultural scene. Besides the old houses in many parts of the city you have some nice old villa quarters, parks and nature on the outskirts. The beaches at the River Elbe are very nice too.
Most memorable moment in Hamburg:
Standing on a beach at River Elbe with a view of the harbour on the other riverside. I became aware that you don't have to go away for a holiday, because the city has lots of beautiful places.
What would be an ideal day for you in Hamburg?
In the morning I would visit the big art museum Kunsthalle, and in the afternoon I would catch the suburban train to the hills of
Blankenese - a rich and nice part of Hamburg at the River Elbe - then end the day at the beach. Hamburger Kunsthalle - www.hamburger-kunsthalle.de
What's the weirdest thing that has happened to you or that you've seen in Hamburg?
Sorry but in Hamburg weird things never ever happen. It is very nice and we really love it!
Tell us something that we probably don't know about Hamburg?
Hamburg has the worlds biggest model railway which is located in the fantastic and impressive warehouse district Speicherstadt near the city centre. Sounds silly, but it is awesome - believe me! Miniature Wunderland - www.miniatur-wunderland.com
